Caring for Your Buylerika Ceramic Jewelry
Pieces painted with gold or platinum lustre are made in our "MODERN VINTAGE" technique. Over time, the gold or platinum finish will develop a softer, more vintage look — this is intentional and part of our designers' original idea.
To keep your piece beautiful for years to come, please follow these simple guidelines:
- Avoid direct contact with water and chemicals such as soap, hand cream, perfume, hand sanitiser, oils and make-up. The only exception is the front of our Rose aroma brooch, which is designed to hold fragrance.
- Remove your jewelry before swimming or showering.
- If you are caught in the rain, protect your jewelry if you can.
- Put on and take off your jewelry gently. Do not pull on or force the fittings.
- Avoid knocking the porcelain against hard or rough surfaces. Porcelain is a fragile material, and if dropped, your piece may break just like a porcelain cup.
- Store your jewelry in a dry place - for example, in the bedroom rather than the bathroom. We recommend keeping it in its original packaging.
- If you own a necklace or pendant made of matte (unglazed) porcelain, please store it hanging. This way the porcelain won't rub against the chain or fittings and wear them down like an abrasive.
- Gold-plated chains and fittings may gradually lose their shine with wear. Wipe them gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing to keep them looking their best.
